Miracle of Jesus
Group Publishing describes Miracle of Jesus as an outreach event that takes "moms, dads, and kids on a sensory-rich Christmas adventure that fills them with more joy than you could pack in a million stockings. Families will see, hear, taste, touch, and smell the Bible-times town of Bethlehem. Through hands-on activities, games, stories, and more, they’ll experience firsthand the amazing impact of the miracles of Jesus’ birth—and life." Guests at our Miracle of Jesus event heard surprising details about Jesus from Bethlehem merchants such as the census taker, the wool trader, and the fisherman. They followed the town map and collected one-of-a-kind scented stickers at each station, including the bakery, the spice shop, and the stable. They created adorable keepsakes that serve to remind them of God’s unending love and help them grow closer as a family. Finally, guests participated in a fun, interactive drama at the end that retold the joy of Jesus’ birth from the perspective of a stable boy, now a grown man. I can't thank this years volunteers enough for their time, creativity and participation. I'd especially like to thank Janet and Anne Hauser for all the time they invested in the behind the scenes planning and recruiting, and the volunteers who came in the days prior to the event and helped create the marketplace. The event was very successful in drawing in a number of families from our community and many from surrounding communities. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive! We hope to create the experience again in December 2015. Please plan now to be involved this year and start thinking about who you'd like to invite.
